2015 - Valentine Day

Happy Valentine Day.  To young lovers, new lovers, old lovers and those just loving themselves, today has been a day for thinking of our loved ones and of course loving ourselves after all we deserve it.

This one is for all you campers out there - Benny sets the mood with a little Sarah magic!!

And tell me this is not a great valentine card ..

We had a relaxing day that started with a private Foundation Training class.  It is so great to see the progress my client has made.  Followed by a trip to REI to find women specific cycling shorts for Sarah and new GP2 handle bar grips for my "trainer" mountain bike.  Yup that is a mountain bike on a trainer.  Good job I had an old hard tail in the shed.  It fits the trainer perfectly and gives me a more upright position to aid recovery.  Oh come on nothing says I love you like a pair of cycling shorts with a fine chamois.  Well it would have if we found a pair.  The hunt is still on.

Before we could get on the bikes we took the girls to the local park for a walk.  Poor Candy has injured a back leg and just like me she is at PT, so the walk was shorter than she would have liked with enforced exercises, but she loves the park so it made up for the restrictions.  Daisy on the other hand needed a little more to expend her pent up energy.

Back home and it was time to hit the bikes, well not quite, there was still the job of replacing the grips.  A task not as easy as it sounds but with a little pulling ok lots of pulling and a bit for rolling and did I mention lots of pulling the old grips came off and in no time the new ones installed.

Sarah and I then hit the trainers for our 30 minute session.  It is great to ride with Sarah and I feel for her as she is working through positioning and saddle sores in unmentionable areas.  She looks great on her new bike "black beauty" and I know the effort will be worth it when we can get out on the road and trails together.  Grip verdict is still out, they did seem to prevent pain in my neck afterwards but did give me a few pins and needles in my hands.

We finished out the day with our extended family next door.  It is always a worry when you hear that the CD player keeps stopping and a red light comes up on the amplifier.  Especially when the Amplifier is 15+ years old.  On first investigation you find that only one of the 4 speakers is actually working.  At which point pulling the thing out to check cabling seems like a reasonable thing to do right.  Yup pulled the thing out and boom dead amplifier as in "so long and thanks for all the great tunes over the years but its now time to say bye bye!!".   A banged head (don't ask) and a temporary sound system and the evening was back on track.  A great, healthy dinner with wonderful friends followed by a game of Hand and Foot (a really interesting card game) finished off our valentine day ...

Here's hoping you had a great day and Maxed Life Out  .......
